High RAM VPS Hosting — Memory-optimised VPS for databases, caches, and JVM apps

Memory-optimised compute with a low CPU-to-RAM ratio. Perfect for PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, JVM apps, ML data prep, and modded game servers — workloads where RAM is the bottleneck. Built for Database admins, B2B workloads, modded game server hosts, ML / data engineers.

High RAM VPS Plans

What's included

Everything pre-installed, nothing to configure.

Order, wait 30 seconds for deploy, log in — your stack is running.

💾

Premium DDR4 ECC

Error-correcting memory. Bit-flips on busy databases happen — ECC catches them. Standard cloud RAM doesn't.

⚙️

Tuned kernel parameters

vm.swappiness, transparent hugepages, and dirty-page ratios pre-tuned for database workloads.

🚀

NVMe storage

Even on the 'low-IOPS' bound RAM workloads, persistent layer is fast NVMe. No surprise disk lag.

🐧

Distro freedom

Pick Ubuntu, Debian, AlmaLinux, Rocky, FreeBSD, or any cloud-init image. Bare metal feel, virtualised price.

📊

Resource visibility

Standard tools work: `free`, `vmstat`, `iotop`, `pidstat`. We don't hide resource info like some clouds.

🐾

Direct upgrade path

Outgrow 64 GB? We move you to a dedicated server with 256 GB+ RAM with under 30 minutes downtime.

01 — Who this is for

Built for database admins

Memory-optimised compute with a low CPU-to-RAM ratio. Perfect for PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis, Elasticsearch, JVM apps, ML data prep, and modded game servers — workloads where RAM is the bottleneck.

🧠
Why a dedicated high ram VPS beats DIY

You could install Base OS — Ubuntu / Debian / AlmaLinux / Rocky on a generic $5 VPS. Most people who try spend an evening on the install, another on hardening, another on backups, and then it falls over the first time the kernel updates. We've done that work — every high ram plan is tuned, monitored, and updateable in one click.

🐾
02 — The stack

What's actually running on your VPS

No black boxes — here's the exact software shipped on every High RAM VPS plan.

The High RAM VPS image ships with: Base OS — Ubuntu / Debian / AlmaLinux / Rocky. We don't fork or patch — we use the official upstream releases, with sensible defaults for our hardware. Update on your schedule, not ours.

Everything runs in containers via Docker, so updates are atomic. If a release breaks something, roll back to the previous image in 30 seconds. No 'I broke prod by running apt upgrade' moments.

🐾
03 — The hardware

Real cores, real NVMe.

The same KVM hypervisor and enterprise NVMe drives we use across every OliveVPS region.

Common questions

About High RAM VPS hosting.

What workloads actually need 64 GB RAM?

Postgres with a 30 GB hot dataset, Redis cluster with 25 GB working set, Elasticsearch with 30 GB index, JVM heap-heavy apps (Kafka, Cassandra), modded Minecraft servers with 200+ players, or data-prep pipelines processing CSV/Parquet.

Why not just use AWS r-instances?

Price. AWS r5.2xlarge (8 vCPU / 64 GB) is about $0.50/hr = $360/mo on demand. Our Premium plan is $35.99/mo — same RAM, same NVMe storage, no egress charges. The trade-off: AWS has more regions and instant scaling; we have honest pricing.

Can I run Redis with persistence?

Absolutely — that's the canonical use case. We recommend AOF (append-only file) for production. RDB snapshots also work fine on NVMe.

What about ECC errors?

ECC RAM corrects single-bit errors silently and reports them in dmesg. Multi-bit errors (rare) get logged + alerted. We replace any DIMM that throws a correctable error rate above threshold.
