Every OliveVPS Virtual Private Server plan — Starter, Pro, and Premium — comes with a full 7-day money-back guarantee from the moment your server is provisioned. If you're not satisfied for any reason within those seven days, contact us and we'll refund 100% of your payment to the original payment method.

You don't need a "good" reason. You don't need to fill out a form explaining yourself. You don't need to argue with a billing rep. You email billing@olivevps.com, we verify your account, and we issue the refund — usually within 24 hours.

Why we offer this — and mean it

We've been on the customer side of bad hosting too. The phrase "money-back guarantee" usually comes with a list of exclusions, a 30-day clock that secretly starts at signup, and a three-week argument with billing. Ours doesn't. Seven days starts when your server is ready, ends when you're satisfied or refunded.

If you change your mind during the process, just tell us — we can pause the refund and keep your server online. Most of the time, when customers are unhappy, the underlying issue is something we can fix in 30 minutes (a misconfigured firewall, a slow DNS resolver, an unfamiliar control panel). We'd much rather solve the problem than process the refund.

Why the difference? When you order a VPS, we provision it from existing capacity in seconds — if you cancel, we put it back in the pool. When you order a dedicated server, we physically rack and configure hardware specifically for you. We can't undo that as cleanly. The 24-hour window for dedicated lets you confirm the hardware performs as advertised; for longer evaluation, we encourage you to start with a Pro VPS and migrate up to dedicated once you're confident.

04 — Important Exclusions

What the guarantee doesn't cover

We're being upfront about the edges. These exclusions are standard across the industry, but we'd rather you know now than be surprised later.

After the 7-day window

Once the guarantee period ends, monthly billing is non-refundable. You can cancel anytime to prevent renewal, but already-billed months aren't refunded pro-rata. Annual plans get a partial refund minus the standard monthly rate for time used.

Cryptocurrency payments

Bitcoin, Ethereum, USDT, and Lightning Network payments cannot be refunded to crypto due to network volatility. Instead, we issue a 100% account credit you can apply to any future plan or service. Credits don't expire.

Add-ons & one-time fees

One-time charges (additional IPs, custom hardware, professional services, license transfer fees) are non-refundable once delivered. Add-on subscriptions (DDoS Pro, managed services, off-site backups) follow the base plan's refund terms.

Terms-of-Use violations

Accounts suspended or terminated for violating our Terms of Use or Acceptable Use Policy (spam, abuse, illegal content, fraud) are not eligible for refund. The guarantee covers buyer's remorse, not bad-faith use.

Chargebacks before contact

If you initiate a chargeback or PayPal dispute before contacting us, we treat it as a refund request — but the disputed account is suspended pending resolution. Email us first; it's faster than a bank dispute and we never refuse a legitimate request.

Domain registrations

If you register or transfer a domain through us, the domain registration fee is non-refundable (this is a registry charge, not ours). The domain remains yours and can be transferred out at any time.

05 — Cancellation

How to cancel beyond the trial

After the 7-day window, you can still cancel anytime. Here's how it works for ongoing accounts.

Cancellations after the 7-day refund window stop future billing immediately and keep your server online until the end of the current billing period. If you've paid monthly, you keep the server through that month. If you've paid annually, you can either run the server through the prepaid term (recommended) or request early termination with a partial credit toward future services.

To cancel:

  1. Log into your control panel at app.olivevps.com
  2. Navigate to your service and click Request Cancellation
  3. Choose End of Billing Period (recommended) or Immediate
  4. Confirm — you'll receive an email confirmation within 5 minutes

If you'd prefer to cancel by email instead, send a one-line message from your account email to billing@olivevps.com. We'll process it within one business day and confirm in writing.

Your data stays yours. When you cancel, you have 14 days to download backups, snapshots, or exported configs from the panel before everything is securely wiped. After 14 days the data is permanently destroyed and unrecoverable — even by us. Plan accordingly.

SLA credits beyond the 7 days

Even after the trial window, you have ongoing protection through our 99.99% uptime SLA — automatic credits, no claims process.

Every OliveVPS plan is backed by a 99.99% uptime Service Level Agreement covering network, power, and our control plane. If we miss the target in any calendar month, we credit your account proactively. You don't need to ask, file a ticket, or argue — credits appear on your next invoice automatically with an email explaining the incident.

SLA credits are applied to your account balance and reduce future invoices. They are not paid out as cash refunds and are independent of the 7-day money-back guarantee — you can have both.

07 — FAQ

Common refund questions

Does the 7-day window start at order or at provisioning?

At provisioning. The clock starts the moment your server is delivered with credentials — not when you submit the order, and not when payment clears. If provisioning takes 30 minutes, your 7 days start 30 minutes after you order.

What if I order a Starter, then upgrade to Pro within the trial?

The 7-day window applies to the original order date. Upgrading mid-trial extends nothing — you have the remainder of the original 7 days to decide. If you cancel within the window, we refund the original payment plus any upgrade charge in full.

Can I get a refund after using lots of bandwidth?

Yes. We don't deduct bandwidth costs from refunds, even for customers who clearly stress-tested the network during the trial. We'd rather you actually evaluate the service than tiptoe around hypothetical bandwidth charges.

Does the guarantee apply to renewals?

The 7-day window applies to your first invoice on each new service — not to renewal payments. If you've used a service for months and renew, that renewal payment is not refundable as a "trial." Cancel before renewal if you don't want to continue.

How long does the refund take to appear?

We process refunds within 24 business hours of approval. Once processed: PayPal refunds appear instantly, credit and debit card refunds take 3-5 business days to clear back to the card depending on your bank, bank transfer refunds take 2-3 business days, cryptocurrency converts to account credit immediately.

Can I get a partial refund on an annual plan after the trial?

Outside the 7-day window, annual plans receive a partial refund equal to the unused months at the standard monthly rate (not the discounted annual rate). For example, if you paid for 12 months at $84/year ($7/mo effective rate) and cancel after 6 months, your refund is calculated as: $84 paid − (6 months × $7.99 standard rate) = $36.06.

What if my server has a problem during the trial?

Tell us first — most issues are something we can fix in under an hour. If you'd still rather get a refund afterward, the 7-day window doesn't reset after we fix anything; it keeps running from your original order. But we won't pressure you to stay if you're not feeling it.

Are managed services and add-ons refundable?

Add-on subscriptions (DDoS Pro, managed services, off-site backups, automated patching) follow the base plan's 7-day window when ordered alongside a new VPS. If you add them to an existing service later, they're prorated and refundable for the unused portion if cancelled within 7 days of activation.

What's your cancellation rate?

About 4% of new customers request a refund within the 7-day window. Of those, roughly half are misorders (wrong region, wrong OS, wrong plan size) that we resolve into a re-ordered service rather than a refund. Net true refund rate is around 2%.
