Pre-licensed Windows Server 2019, 2022, and Windows 10/11. RDP enabled out of the box on a non-default port. NVMe-backed, 99.99% uptime, 20+ global cities.
Windows requires more RAM and disk than Linux to run smoothly — that's why we don't offer it on Starter. Pro is the comfortable minimum; Premium is for serious applications.
Windows requires at least 2 GB of RAM to run smoothly with Server features enabled. Our $3.99 Starter plan includes only 1 GB RAM (Linux only). For Windows, the $7.99 Pro plan is the entry point.
Server editions licensed under SPLA (we handle the licensing); workstation editions via your own Microsoft licensing key (BYOL).
Mature, stable, well-documented. Best choice if you need PowerShell DSC, Windows Containers, or older app-server compatibility.
Unlimited Hyper-V VMs, Storage Spaces Direct, Software-Defined Networking. For serious infrastructure builds.
The current default. TLS 1.3, SMB compression, Azure Arc-ready. Pick this unless you have a specific 2019 requirement.
Unlimited Hyper-V, hardened security baseline, ideal for nested virtualization labs.
Bring your own license — useful for trading platforms, automation tools, or Windows-only desktop software.
Latest Windows desktop. We pre-configure TPM emulation so it installs cleanly on the VM.
RDP works from Windows, macOS, Linux, iOS, Android. We also ship a VNC console for when RDP isn't available — perfect for recovery or pre-domain-join setup.
Network Level Authentication on, RDP listening on a non-default port (we email you the exact port + Administrator credentials at deploy). Ready to mstsc.exe in 5 minutes.
Web-based VNC console available 24/7 from your panel. Perfect for boot-time issues, password recovery, or watching the BIOS POST when something's broken.
Datacenter editions can run nested Hyper-V VMs at native speed. Build labs, test deployments, run isolated workloads inside the VM.
Each Windows VPS gets a static IPv4 and a routed /64 IPv6. Open the firewall, expose RDP/HTTP/whatever — it's your machine.
MT4, MT5, cTrader, NinjaTrader — always-on, low-latency to broker, never your laptop sleeping.
Selenium, Playwright on real Windows. UI testing for IE/legacy Edge. Crawling sites that block headless.
SMB3, AD-joined file shares for distributed teams. DFS replication across regions.
IIS hosting for ASP.NET / .NET Core, SQL Server Express, custom Windows services.
FFmpeg, HandBrake, Premiere render farm node. CPU-only encodes, headless.
Domain controller, group policy testing, ADFS, Exchange test deployments.
Always-on data-refresh gateway, on-prem connector for Power BI / Power Automate.
Game server hosting for Windows-only titles, voice servers (TeamSpeak, Mumble).
For Server editions (2019, 2022 Standard and Datacenter), yes — we license under Microsoft's SPLA program. The license cost is built into the plan price. For workstation editions (Windows 10, 11), you bring your own license (BYOL) since SPLA doesn't cover desktop SKUs.
2–5 minutes. Windows images are larger (~30 GB) than Linux, so initial provisioning takes longer. After the first boot, sysprep finishes in another minute, then you receive RDP credentials by email.
Yes — that's what RDP is for. Connect via Remote Desktop, install your apps as you would on a local Windows machine. Server editions support multiple concurrent RDP sessions (after enabling the Remote Desktop role).
Yes — Windows Server 2019 and 2022 both support Windows Containers natively (process isolation) and Linux containers via WSL2 or Hyper-V isolation on the Datacenter edition. The Pro plan's 2 GB RAM is tight for this; Premium is the better choice if Docker is a primary use case.
Two reasons. First, Windows Server licenses cost real money — Microsoft charges per CPU under SPLA, and we pass that through. Second, Windows needs more RAM and disk to run smoothly; the Starter's 1 GB / 25 GB simply isn't enough for a usable Windows experience.
Yes. Free migration assistance on Pro and Premium. We typically use Disk2VHD (Sysinternals) on the source, then attach the converted VHD to your new OliveVPS Windows VPS. Full process takes 1–3 hours depending on disk size.
